Why are people so selfish these days?

Human life is undervalued more and more in today's society. Or it's treated like a commodity. Abortion is carried out routinely, assisted suicide, euthanasia - it's appalling. Now with embryonic stem cell research (farming human embryos purely for harvesting tissue), it's all gottn right out of hand.

The young generation has grown up only hearing about their rights to wealth, health, power etc. These are what is valued. If you have a loud voice, a grown up healthy body and a fat wallet, then you have a right. Otherwise, you have nothing. I worry about where our society is going

Even in ones own family, people take you for granted, always wanting but never giving :-/
